About animelikethis
animelikethis is a free anime and manga recommender. Name a series you loved, or connect your AniList or MyAnimeList account, and it shows what to watch or read next, leaving out what you have already seen. There is no sign-up and no ads.
What it covers
Every franchise on AniList above a small popularity floor has its own page: 6,208 “anime like …” pages and 21,858 “manga like …” pages, for example anime like Attack on Titan or manga like Chainsaw Man. Each lists a top pick and a few dozen alternatives with year, format, length and score. The catalog syncs with AniList every six hours.
How the picks are made
- What fans went on to love. AniList users recommend “if you liked X, try Y”; those community recommendations are the strongest signal, and each pick says how many fans recommended it.
- What the stories share. Tags and genres are compared, rare ones (say, “Body Swapping”) counting more than common ones (“School”), so a pick can say it is “the same kind of story” or name the themes both have.
- How well it is liked. Scores are weighed against how many people rated them, so a niche title with a handful of perfect scores does not outrank a widely loved one.
- One entry per franchise. You get the first season, not season 3 of something new, and never the manga of the anime you just watched. Sequels of what you liked sit on their own shelf.
Using your own list
Enter an AniList or MyAnimeList username and the picks skip everything on that list and lean toward what you scored highly. Lists are read from the public profile on request and are not stored. Without an account you can name a few favourites and pick a mood and a length instead; anything you mark as seen stays in your browser.

Yes. Every title page has a switch between anime and manga, and lists the other medium for fans of the same series.
Where does the data come from?
Titles, descriptions, scores, tags and covers come from the public AniList API. animelikethis is an independent project and is not affiliated with AniList or MyAnimeList.
